Relaxing Sunday And A Flower!

Yesterday I spent a pleasant afternoon
making lavender sachets.
The room just smelt lovely with all the lavender.
Twelve sachets were made. I had four more
stitched up but ran out of lavender!
I also put together my first hexagon flower!
I basted them the old fashioned way as I didn't have any glue and found it a very relaxing process. It's been a long time since I've made any hexagons, maybe 15 years
or so (and then I only made two flowers).
But like some of my lovely friends said
"it's just like getting back on a bike"!

  1. Hello Christine,

I can small the Lavender from here, they look so pretty all lined up. Have fun with your hexie's. I agree it is so relaxing hand sewing them.

    Happy days.

  2. Your sachets are so pretty all bundled up in ribbons. I can do hexies (hate them), but they are great little embellishments on bags - you can make the quilt.

  6. Those lavendar sachets look so pretty and I also love the smell of lavendar. It would have been such a joy putting them together with the lovely fragrance. Great for easing headaches. Your hexie rosettes are lovely. I still baste the old fashioned way with cheap thread and I find it to be just as quick and less messy. Enjoy.

  19. Mmm...lavender :)...lovely flower, great use of the fabric designs, love that it is purple to go with the lavender!!...I don't baste with glue, I thread baste except not through the papers, the basting stays in, a flick and the papers are out and can be re-used, I find thread basting relaxing, apparently I am strange that way!!
