Happy 60th Sally!

A good friend of ours turned 60 last week. My sister-in-law, Silvia and I decided we would make something special for Sally. This is what we made.
Silvia embroidered one half and I did the other.
This was a joint effort from start to finish.
Here is a close-up of the embroidery.
Sally was thrilled with her table runner. She just loves roses. Silvia and I were both very pleased with how it turned out.

Happy birthday Sally from all the MacDonald's!

MUD!

Last Sunday was a wet day at the footy. The fields where Mitchell and Nelson played weren't too bad but......
Austin played at Yarrambat in all the mud. The photos don't show the mud as much as it was in person. You can see where he took off his socks to reveal nice clean shins!
Although he was very muddy, some of the other boys were a lot muddier. You couldn't see some of the numbers on the back of their jumpers.
I made Austin get into the shower to try to wash some of the mud off his clothes. I then made him keep stomping on them as he was washing himself. You should have seen the bottom of the shower! (Sorry the photos are a funny colour. We had the bathroom heater lights on).

I keep looking on the bright side of having boys play football. I don't have girls that I have to make costumes for with thousands of sequins!

We survived!

Well, last night we had Mitchell's second party. There ended up being about 22 (there were a couple extra but they hid from the camera). They were all very well behaved.
Mitchell wanted the same birthday cakes as Sunday. Nice and easy! If you're wondering what's in Mitchell's top, it's Aurora the dog. And although you can't see it, Mitchell has on his Collingwood polar fleece top. I knew it was too good yesterday to get a birthday photo without his Collingwood jumper on. At least this top's not black and white stripes!
Then it was fun toasting marshmallows!

Fourteen years ago .......

On the 13th June, 1996 this beautiful baby came into the world.
Fourteen years later, here he is all grown up and taller than me.
Although he actually passed me by his 13th birthday!
Yesterday we had a birthday afternoon tea with all the relatives. This would be the first birthday photo in many years where Mitchell isn't wearing his Collingwood football jumper! Yeah!!! We didn't tell him before the photo so that he couldn't run off and get it!

Happy Birthday, Mitchell. Lots of love Mum, Dad, Austin and Nelson. xxx
