Tilda Windy Days Stitchalong Week 5

Our week 5 project is this glasses case.
I'm going to keep this one for myself.
I've been using this glasses case since 2010!
I received it from Carol when I first started participating in swaps.
It was a F.R.I.E.N.D.S swap. You can read about it here
So it's probably about time for an update, don't you think!
I'm also still using those scissors. They are my favourite pair!

A Tilda Magical Christmas!

When I got home from retreat I was very
excited to see a package waiting for me.
It was my Tilda Little Box of Magical Christmas 2021
I had ordered from Dawn at Kitty Rose Cottage.
There are kits for five different Christmas
projects, along with some other goodies.
Don't know if I'll get a chance to make a start on any
before Christmas but they'll definitely be ready for next year.

Tilda Windy Days Stitchalong Week 4

Our fourth project in the Windy Days Stitchalong
was this hexagon table mat. I always find fussy cutting hard
as I feel I am wasting fabric. But it does look lovely done this way.

I added a Tilda centre on the back instead
of all plain to make it reversible.

Friday Night Sew-In On Retreat!

After being cancelled last year and postponed twice this year,
Melody and I were finally off to NOTYQ retreat at Myrniong!
Friday morning we headed up to Ballarat.
We had our lunch at the Gatehouse Cafe at the
Ballarat New Cemetery, "new" even though
it was established in 1867!
We were both good and had the healthy cauliflower stew.
It was delicious.
Then we went to visit Morgan at our favourite
shop in Ballarat, The Crafty Squirrel.
I forgot to take a photo inside on this visit.
There are so many unique and gorgeous things inside.
We made our way back to Ballan and visited
This photo is actually from a visit there a couple of
weeks ago when we made a quick decision to go to
Ballan for lunch after we came out of lock down.
We also went to Mill Rose Cottage.
These Tilda fabrics wanted to come home with me!
Next stop - retreat! My spot all set up for stitching.

There may have been a champagne or two over the weekend!

And scones of course!

It was so wonderful seeing everyone after all this time.
We all had so much news to share from over the
past 18 months or so. There was such a feeling of excitement
on Friday and by Sunday afternoon when we were leaving,
it felt as though life was "back to normal"!
I know it isn't but that's how it felt.

Friday was also Friday Night Sew-In with Wendy.
I finished stitching the binding and rod pocket
on Lillian Elizabeth's Kitchen quilt. I've even got the label on!
Will do another post on the finished quilt.

Tilda Windy Days Stitchalong Week 3

Sundays are when Fee releases the new weekly project for the
Tilda Windy Days Stitchalong.
Yesterday's project was this sewing bag.
I actually finished it last night.
First time ever I've finished my project on the same day!
I had this cute fabric in my stash for the lining and backing.
Wanted to save my good Tilda for the front of things! LOL!

Tilda Windy Days Stitchalong Weeks 1 and 2

Our Tilda Lovers Club Windy Days stitchalong
has started and we have made the first two projects.
This new range of fabric is beautiful.

Project #1 was this table runner.
I don't know if you can see it, but one piece of the binding
ended up with no blue flowers showing on the front,
just the caramel colour. Probably no-one would notice
but I knew it was there so I unpicked it and did it again.
I needed to go buy some more of the fabric as after rejoining
the pieces I was about 3 inches short. Fee showed us how
to machine stitch the binding down instead of by hand.
This is a new technique for me and it took 3 goes
the first time to get it right. I think I would have been
quicker doing it by hand! LOL! Also took ages to unpick it!
I'm much happier now. Got it stitched down first go this time, yay!
Project #2 is this cute needle case.
This was a great fabric to fussy cut.
This was a fun little project.
I finished my stitchery ready for project #3.
Now to wait for Fee to show us what we are making later today.

Friday Night With Friends

Last night I worked on the final stitchery for our
Tilda Lovers Club Windy Days stitchalong.
I'll finish this off tonight ready for when
Fee reveals the next project tomorrow.

Thanks to Chez for keeping us inspired.

Tomorrow I'll have the first two projects of the stitchalong
to show you. Just have to finish the last little bit of project #2.
I'm re-doing the binding on our first project as I wasn't happy
with it. I'll tell you all about it in my next post.
