Back From Retreat!

We had a wonderful weekend at the NOTYQ retreat
at Lake Dewar Lodge in Myrniong.
Due to the great time we were having,
I've taken hardly any photos! Hopefully Mel
and Ann managed to take some.

Here we are at GJ's in Fairfield.
Photo borrowed from Melody.
Next we visited Kellie at The Cutting Cloth
What a beautiful shop. It's so full of inspiration.
Sprung! We walked in to find Libby and Jennifer
at the counter with Kellie.
Mel and Ann purchased a couple of patterns
for a class they are going to do there.
Of course, a little shopping was compulsory, although I was very restrained. Some pink Tilda to add to my collection, along with the green which I am going to use to make Jenny's Hussif. More little hangers and some binding clips. Why haven't I bought these before?
They are wonderful to use.
Some of the goodies I received at retreat. There are a couple more things that I can't find at the moment.
There was some bubbly on Saturday night!
The main project I worked on was my FQS 2013 Designer Mystery BOM quilt. I just had to stitch down the binding.
TaaDaa! It's all finished.
I decided to bind it in the same fabric as the border
rather than the navy spot.
The colours are more true to life in the above photo.

Thanks for being great travelling partners Mel and Ann.
It was certainly a lovely weekend.

A Cold Wet Afternoon

Spent preparing binding and stitching it onto my
2013 FQS Designer Mystery Quilt.
I decided to bind it in the same fabric as the border,
not the navy spot. Yes, I did find my precut binding strips. I'll save them for something else. Mel and I are heading off to NOTYQ retreat in about three weeks. Stitching down the binding will be one of the projects I will be taking.

Quilting Is Done!

I picked up my 2013 Designer Mystery BOM quilt after having it quilted by Leanne (Leanne's Quilting Service
and it looks just wonderful!

Now to find where I put the binding!

It's Finished!

My FQS 2013 Designer Mystery BOM flimsy.
It has turned out to be quite a large quilt.
I think we need a bigger bed (or one without a foot board)!

Catching Up

I hope everyone had a lovely New Year.
I've been spending some time in my sewing room.

The first two borders are now on my FQS BOM.
The Flying Geese are pinned and ready
to start sewing for the next border.
I've been doing some stitchery preparation so that I have some handwork to pick up when I need it.
I'm joining Jenny (Elefantz) in stitching her Vintage Kitchen BOM. I found the perfect feature fabric in my stash. It has a real old feel about it. I'll get block 1 finished today.
I've also stitched one of Jenny's little patterns from Month 3 of her Stitching Club. Now to make it into something.
A little sneak peek to finish off with.

My Final OPAM For 2014

I've got one final project to squeeze in for 2014.
Mitchell was giving a book to a friend for her birthday,
so I made her a personalised book mark.

December's total is 13 finishes.
 Two cushions.
 Table Topper.
 Little owls.
Mini quilt.
Snowman.
Decoration.
Apron and tea towel.
Nativity hanging.
Santa Sack.

I have a total of 80 projects finished for 2014. Down on last year's 94 but I've worked on bigger projects this year.

A special thank you to Peg and Kris
for keeping us inspired with OPAM.
Not quite finished but I've been working on my FQS Designer Mystery BOM. The centre is now together.
Just have to add the fours borders and
then it's off to be quilted.
I just want to send get well wishes
to my special friend Melody.
I hope you up and about soon.
You gave us all quite a scare!
Hugs, Christine xx

On A Cold, Wet Day . . . . .

 I thought I'd do a little cutting!
I cut out some Dresdens to make cushions.

Started cutting the borders for my FQS BOM.
That's enough cutting for today.
I've still got some more to go for the BOM
but I think I'll go do some stitching in my favourite chair!

Last One Finished!

Yesterday Block 12 of my FQS BOM arrived.
I cut it out last night (along with another 3 projects)
and put it together this afternoon.

The twelve finished blocks.

The finishing kit is all ready. As the FQS is so generous
with their BOM's, I'll see what I can cut out from the
left overs first before I break into this lot.

Well, back to the sewing room I go!
I hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

Some Sewing!

A fat quarter bag in gorgeous Bonnie and Camille fabric!
I finally got Block 8 finished of my Quilty Stitches
Sampler Along. This  one took a while.
We're half way through now.
Block 11 of my FQS BOM is done.

It seems like ages since I've finished anything.
But here has been lots of secret sewing happening.
Here's a sneak peek for you.
It's Friday Night Sew-In with Wendy. In between getting the washing done, I hope to get a little stitching in. There'll be more stitching tomorrow as Mel and I head off to Ballan to catch up with the Mill Rosie Friends.

Friday Night With Friends!

Another Friday Night With Friends has come and gone!
I managed to get my cutting done in between doing four loads of washing! Hopefully, I'll get to start
putting these together this afternoon.
Backing for baby quilt.

Block Eleven of my FQS BOM.

Thank you to Chez for hosting us.
Head over here to see what the others got up to.

A Lovely Day.....

spent in the sewing room!
Block 9 of my FQS Designer Mystery quilt
arrived on Friday and is put together.
The borders of my Gail Pan Christmas stitchery
are on and just needs to be quilted.
I pieced the backing for my Granny Square quilt.
It's now ready to go off to be quilted.
I traced out a stitchery from Gail's Simply Christmas book.
Prepared my project for my Friends Having Fun Tilda Swap.

So it's been a very productive day!
Just got to start putting my things together
for next weekend's Let's Get Stitched!
It should be so much fun!
