12 Inch Mini Quilt Swap

I joined Cheryll's 12" Mini Quilt Club Swap and the theme was "Welcome". Today I received my quilt from my secret partner, O'faigh of Oldbury Cottage. Isn't it gorgeous! I just love the fabrics she has used.

Here's a close-up of the teddies. O'faigh has painted them and then added some stitching. Aren't they so cute!
This is the mini quilt I have made for my secret partner. It's all ready to wing itself to it's new owner's home. I hope my partner enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it for her.

A close-up of the bee buttons.
My mini quilt looks lovely on it's stand sitting on my treadle machine cabinet. Don't you agree?

Thank you O'faigh for my beautiful little quilt and thank you Cheryll for organising this fun swap.

A Blogger Get Together!

I spent a lovely afternoon yesterday meeting up with some bloggers, some for the first time. We arranged to meet at the Bundoora Homestead. We did lots of talking, had lunch and then viewed the Tea Cosy exhibition.
Going from left to right is Annette of Jindi's Cottage, me, Simone of Quilts n Cats, Elyte of Tea, Fabric and Other Things, Melody of The House on the Side of the Hill, Tracey (who's squatting down, she's really not that short) of Mistea Crafts and Marina of Maisie and the Boys.
There were a few patched cosies.
I really liked this bluebell one.
This is Tracey's Rapunzel tea cosy. Can you see her Prince waiting at the bottom for Rapunzel?

Thank you girls for a great afternoon.

Outback Adventure Part 3

I'm sure you've been wondering where the rest of our photos are. Well, this is only the afternoon of Day 1 and the morning of Day 2 at Uluru! I hope you can survive all the photos! The camel trek was a highlight of the whole trip.

The camels all lined up and waiting for us.
We were in the sunshine while there was quite a storm happening over Uluru.

 Noel made an extra friend!

I'm not quite sure what they are looking at here. How's the colour of the sky! That's actually a rainbow.

The next day we headed out to the Rock to watch the sunrise. Unfortunately it was a bit cloudy but we did get some colour changes.
That's Uluru to the right. In the sunshine in the background is Kata Tjuta. That used to be called The Olgas. I'll show photos of that another post.

We went for a walk around the base. There are so many different formations in the rock.
 The Waterhole.
This part reminded me of Wave Rock in Western Australia.
Cave paintings.
Some quiet time to just sit and look!

FNSI!

Well last night I stitched three labels! That's it! Nothing more! At least I got them done. So not a very exciting FNSI report! Hope you did better than me!

I've Been Sewing!

I've finally quilted my Hexagon Flower Garden quilt. I made this using the jelly roll I received from Sharon of Vroomans Quilts. The photo just doesn't do the fabric justice!
With the left over pieces, I made this table runner for a friend's birthday. All that's left to do is sew the labels on!

Last night I finished another block of my Christmas stitchery. I've also been doing some secret sewing.
Tonight is the Friday Night Sew-In hosted by Heidi and Bobbi. I plan to sew the labels on and hopefully, get a bit more done on my TTS blocks. Only two left to go!
I received this lovely book from Cheryll of Gone Stitchin' in her Mother's Day Giveaway. Thank you Chez!
Thank you also to Sally of Sally's Angelworks and Julie of The Intrepid Thread.for this gorgeous fabric. I won this in a sponsored giveaway with Sally and Julie.  Four half yards of Apple of My Eye! It's so much nicer than the photo shows.

A Little Sewing!

A mug rug for a friend's birthday. It's a bit hard to see but there are little butterflies on the fabric to match the mug.

A New Swap!

My good friend Cheryll over at Gone Stitchin' is hosting a new swap. It's a 12 inch Mini Quilt swap. I've pinched copied this from Cheryll's blog post to give you an idea of what it's all about.

This is an excuse for 12inch MINI lovers to belong to a "group" with other 12 inch MINI lovers.
We can share ideas, patterns and encouragement.

THE AIM:
To make various 12inch squares of joy throughout the year... and swap them.

I've signed up. Head over here to find out all the information and to see who else in joining in.

PS. I haven't forgotten about our outback photos. When I get a chance I'll post some more!

Friends With Benefits Swap!

I was in the Friends With Benefits Sew-Happy House Mates Swap organised by Kathy of Sew-Happy House. My partner was the gorgeous Cheryll of Gone Stitchin'. Cheryll and I had a lot of fun teasing and taunting each other about our "secret sewing"!
Cheryll made me this lovely hanging. The words on it are "Feather your nest with love and friendship".

Look at the beautiful tea cosy Cheryll knitted for me.

There was also some fairy dust to "put some sparkle into my life", a note book and pen, a chicken hanger and some friendship tea.
Thank you Chez for my lovely presents.
This is what I made for Cheryll. When I went looking for a hanger I was so pleased to find this one. A heart between two friends. So appropriate for our swap. I also bought the same hanger for my hanging from Chez.
A close-up of the wording.
Thank you Chez for being such a fun partner. I enjoyed making this special friendship hanging for you and putting your parcel of goodies together.
Thank you also to Kathy for organising this fun swap.
