A Tilda Cushion

This is a cushion I made for our Mystery Challenge
at the NOTYQ Quilt Show back in October.
Now that I've finally bought a cushion
insert I can share it with you.
The challenge was to make a 16" x 16" cushion cover.
I decided I would challenge myself
and do needle turn applique.
It's not perfect but I'm happy how it turned out.
It is made from the same Tilda fabrics
I am making my hexagon quilt with.
The quilt is still a work in progress.
There are seven leaves and I used
a different fabric for each of them.
I also stitched each of the nine flower stems
in a different shade of green.

Woodland Stitchalong Week 7

Our project for week 7 of the Tilda Lovers Club
Woodland Stitchalong was this cushion.
Doing binding on a cushion is a first for me.
Did a quick trip to the quilt shop for more of the red fabric this morning.
I may just have bought another piece of Tilda home with me as well!

I've been quilting since 1993 and this is the first time
I have ever done binding with mitred corners.
Fee's tutorial showed just how easy it was to do.
I know how I'll be doing my binding from now on!

Another Cushion

The final handmade gift for Christmas (I think) other
than the Christmas gift baking (which is also now done).
I have made this for Nelson's girlfriend, Jemma.
I haven't made a rectangle one before and am
very pleased with how this has turned out.

I Did It!

I have conquered my fear of zips!
After looking at a YouTube tutorial on putting zips in a cushion,
I did it. It was so easy and I just don't know why I have always avoided them.

"H" for Harmony.
The first five Christmas presents for nieces and nephews finished!
As I was now an expert on zips, I then made the
challenge project from the Tilda Lover's Club on Facebook.
This was a little bit trickier but I got this made quite quickly.

Let them Eat Cake!

A family member has a special birthday coming up
and loves Marie Antionette. Trying to think of something to make, I started to look for Marie Antoinette fabric.
Imagine my surprise when I came across these printed
fabric panels. I decided to make a pair of cushions.
 Aren't the panels gorgeous!
Finding the right fabrics was a bit tricky
but I think these ended up working well.
I used Fairy Frost by Michael Miller.

A Finish!

You may remember a little while ago I was working on this.

I have turned it into this!
I was so out of my comfort zone working with these
colours and I'm very pleased with how it turned out.
It is for a special gift for a special person.
