NOTYQ Quilt Exhibition

There's only a week to go for the NOTYQ Quilt Exhibition!
There'll be a large display of quilts, along with a Trader's Hall and Refreshments. We will also have a Community Quilts stall with many wonderful handmade goodies.
Money raised from this stall goes toward buying
fabric and wadding to make the quilts.
This is our beautiful raffle quilt.
The photo really doesn't do it justice.
Here's a close-up of one of the blocks.
And another one.

Proceeds from the raffle will go to Banksia Palliative Care.
If you can make it, we'd love to see you there. Come and say hello. If you can't find me, just ask one of the NOTYQ ladies and they'll hunt me out. I'll be there all weekend.

Molly's Prize Has Arrived!

Hi Everyone, it's Molly here.
My prize for winning the viewer's choice for Dog on Quilt
at Lily Pad Quilting's Pets On Quilts has arrived.

I'm having a closer look here!
My prize is this layer cake of "Best In Show". It has lots of dogs on it, as well as paw prints and bones. It came all the way from New York from Sharon of Vrooman's Quilts.
It's now in Mum's sewing room. Dad bought me a big chew bone (which is now buried in the backyard!) for being a winner and giving Mum the fabric.
I wonder what quilt she will make with it!
Thank you for my lovely prize, Sharon.
Thank you also to Jacque for organising the fun show.
I hope we join in again next year.

Woofy hugs,
Molly

What A Mess!

I wanted to start a new project yesterday but I could
hardly get in the door of my sewing room!
I've been busy with the preparations for our NOTYQ Quilt Exhibition coming up. Everything just seemed
to be getting dumped in here.
So after a quick tidy up I was able to prepare my project. You'll have to wait a couple of weeks
before I can show it to you.

Go here to find out more about the Exhibition.

FNSI On A Saturday!

Once again I didn't make it to FNSI on Friday as I was playing taxi service. But I did join the girls in the
Northern Hemisphere on Saturday.
The lovely Leesa Chandler from Chandler's Cottage
came to NOTYQ and we did a little workshop.
I chose to stitch the dragonfly. It was done in Whip Stitch which is a stitch I have never tried before. I love it and will be using it again. I even got the stitching all done in between popping home to hang out another load of washing and doing some Show Committee work!
When I got home, I put the pin cushion together.
Even though it was only a small project,
I think this is the first time I have ever finished
a workshop project on the day!
I also worked on my Vintage Kitchen block.
Thank you to Wendy for being the
Hostess with the Mostess!
I thought I'd show you my beautiful flowers that are in full bloom that Noel gave me for my birthday last week. I wish you could smell the perfume. The lounge smells devine!

I've Been Spoilt!

I have been very spoilt for my birthday
by my lovely friends Mel, Barb and Shez.
Mel made me the prettiest little cushion in Tilda fabrics. There was Gail Pan's Simply Christmas to add to my collection and a cute sewing tin filled with Lindt balls.
Thank you for my wonderful gifts, Mel.

Barb did some of her fabulous crocheting and made
me this gorgeous cushion. It's sitting alongside
my other special cushions on our bed.
Thank you so much, Barb. I love it.
I had seen this lovely sewing tin on Shez's blog and
never dreamt it would be coming to my place.
Shez added some goodies inside. The was a lovely felt etui she had made, a couple of patterns and some threads. There was also a box of Celebrations chocolates.
This is the etui when open.
Thank you for my lovely gifts, Shez.

So another year older and hopefully another year wiser!

Footy Results

Unfortunately, Mitchell's team lost the Grand Final. It was quite close until the last quarter. With only about 5 minutes to go, Whittlesea kicked three quick goals. Banyule played well but Whittlesea was the better team on the day.
Nelson received this medal for being Boundary Umpire.

Austin's team also lost. So today is the end of the
footy season in the MacDonald house!

Before we know it, the 2016 season will be here!

Grand Final!

Good luck to Mitchell and his team mates as they play the
Division 2 Under 19's Grand Final
against Whittlesea today.

This year Banyule joined the Northern Football League (NFL) after changing from the Victoria Amateur Football League. They have done well to get to the Grand Final
in their first year in the NFL.
This photo is after last week's Preliminary Final win.

Good luck also to Nelson as he is Boundary Umpiring the game. It's not very often a first year umpire gets to umpire
a Grand Final in junior competition, let alone seniors.
He has managed to do both!
Umpiring last week's Division 1 Under 19's First Semi Final Bundoora (Austin's team) vs Lower Plenty.
Bundoora won and play the Preliminary Final tomorrow.
Good luck to Bundoora as well.
Austin hasn't been selected for the game
but will be there cheering them on.

A Message From Molly

 Hello Everyone.
Yes, it's me Molly again.
I just wanted to share my exciting news with you.

Remember how Mum entered me in the Pets on Quilts Show over at Lily Pad Quilting? Well, guess what!
I was voted the favourite Dog on Quilt.
How exciting is that!

I want to thank everyone who voted for me.
Special thanks to Melody and Shez for putting me
on their blogs too. There were so many lovely pets.

I've won a special prize and it will be coming all the way from New York from Sharon of Vrooman's Quilts. When it arrives, I'll show it to you. I think I'll have to do a deal with Mum and do a swap for something else for me. Maybe a big bone!

This is the third time I've been in the Show
so it's third time lucky for me!

Thanks to Jacque for organising the show and congratulations to all the other winners and entrants.
There was some tough competition out there!

Woofy hugs,
Molly

Friday Night With Friends

I had a lovely night of stitching along with everyone in between picking up boys from Ten Pin Bowling and a Formal.
I traced out Block 9 of Jenny's Vintage Kitchen
This is the last block to be stitched. I've got my fabrics picked for putting it all together.
Worked some more on my Home stitchery. This is one of the designs from Jenny's Stitchery Club.

Thanks to Chez for hosting us all.
Lucky she has such a large lounge room!
You can see what everyone else got up to here.

Linking up with Super Mom - No Cape!
