He's Back!

Today Nelson got the all clear from the orthopedic surgeon that he can go back to sport!
Just in time as this Sunday is the first day of finals.
His team finished second on the ladder.

The smile hasn't left his face!

More Christmas In July!

I sent my Christmas In July gifts to Anorina of Samelia's Mum. A wall hanging with a Gail Pan design.
Two Christmas tree ornaments.
An apron with matching tea towel. Apparently Sam has claimed the apron to wear on Christmas Day
when he helps Anorina with lunch!
I love these vintage Santas.

I also popped in a couple of Christmas stencil sets for Sam and Amelia but I forgot to take a photo.

Thanks again Cheryll for organising this fun swap.

Christmas In July!

Today was the day we could open our Christmas In July parcels! My secret partner turned out to be Karen of
Just Purrfick. OMG! Did Karen spoil me!
I opened the box and everything was wrapped in
this lovely Christmas fabric.
Inside the fabric were these beautiful wrapped gifts.
How amazing is this wall hanging! Molly likes it too!
 The label on the back.

The most gorgeous decorations.
The cutest reindeer. I've been wanting to make one of these.
Now I don't have to! LOL!
Two lovely candle holders. I'm not sure if you can see the detail properly but they are so pretty.
Lots of yummy goodies!
Thank you so much Karen. You have spoilt me so much. Thank you also to Cheryll for organising this fun swap. I'll show you what I sent to my partner in another post.

Christmas In July!

I just got a unexpected surprise. A lovely gentleman came to our door with this large box. It is my Christmas in July parcel from my mystery partner. The only message I got was that his wife had asked him to deliver it to me. All I know is they live in Melbourne. Only three more sleeps I can open it up and find out who it's from.
I'm going to be very good and not even
open the box for a peek!
Thought I'd show you our new book ends!

Friday Night Sew-In Results

No sewing done here at all last night!
But I did finally unwrap my Ruby jelly roll.
I'm sure you can guess what I'm going to make. I got all the coloured fabrics cut out and sorted into blocks.
Here are my sixteen blocks, all bagged and ready for stitching. Now I just have to cut out the white fabric.  It was getting too late to start on the white but that shouldn't take me too long. I think the longest part was choosing which fabrics to go in each block.
So a very productive night for me!
I hope everyone else had a great night too.

Are you joining us for the Friday Night Sew-In?
I'm going to be playing with this!

FNSI And A Couple Of Small Finishes!

Tomorrow night is the Friday Night Sew-In. Heidi is taking a break and Wendy of Sugarland Designs will now be hosting FNSI. Head over to sign up with Wendy.
I got some more ribbon to finish off the two fat quarter bags. So that's three for my OPAM list.
Some lovely blogging friends have been asking after Mel. She wanted me to let you all know that she is fine and her DIL is slowing improving but it is going to be a long recovery. Mel wants to thank everyone for their well wishes which she really appreciates. Hopefully she'll be back blogging next week.
Speaking of Mel, I thought I'd make one of her cord holders for my sewing light. It was so quick and easy. I made mine pink to match the light! If you'd like to make one,
here is the link to Mel's post.

Could it be you? You'll just have to wait and see!

A Productive Weekend!

My Friday Night With Friends sewing continued into Saturday and Sunday. Mitchell went off on Friday for the weekend with a friend and his family and Austin and Nelson went to their cousin's for a movie night sleepover. That meant no kids! So what did Noel and I do?
Went to the movies to see The Lone Ranger. I just love Johnny Depp although he wasn't quite as cute as when he was Captain Jack! We loved it and had a good laugh.
Then we went out for dinner.
I finished off the fat quarter bags. Just need to get some more ribbon as I only had the right colour for one of them.
Another secret project was finished.
I also finished the stitchery for another
secret project I am working on!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and
managed to get some stitching done.

Friday Night With Friends!

I had quite a productive night last night (for a change).
I cut out the pieces for Block 1 in the afternoon
so that I could get straight into it.
Sharon had told me how generous the Fat Quarter Shop was with their BOM's and she wasn't joking. I could easily have cut out another block.
Ta Da! Block 1!

When I had finished it, I thought something didn't look quite right. I hadn't realised there was a difference between the back and front of the plain cream fabric. The back is slightly whiter! I had three pieces around the wrong way. Luckily it was the two long cream and cream corner block, so it wasn't too hard to undo and restitch it together. I'll be more careful next time. I'm so glad it wasn't all those HST pieces that I'd made the mistake on!
I also starting a mini production line with three fat quarter bags to go into the present drawer. The drawer has been a bit neglected of late!
Here's something that hasn't been seen in our place before. Austin and Nelson drying the dishes! The dishwasher had keep triggering the safety switch yesterday, so last night it was back to the old fashioned way of dishwashing!
This is what they really thought about it!

Friday Night With Friends!

Tonight is Friday Night With Friends hosted by the lovely Cheryll of Gone Stitchin'.
I think I'll start my first block of the Fat Quarter Shop's Designer Mystery BOM. With a bit of luck, I may even get it cut out this afternoon. That way I can get straight to the sewing machine.
And/or continue working on this secret stitching!

Will you be there? Pop over to Cheryll's blog to join us.

And Another Lovely Afternoon!

This afternoon I met up with Anna (no blog) who is my Santa Sack partner for this year. It turned out she only lives a couple of suburbs away. We arranged to meet for a coffee at a local cafe to get to know each other.
Mel dropped by with her gorgeous grandson, Henry. Little did Anna know that she was Mel's partner for our Christmas In July swap organised by our lovely friend, Cheryll. Mel thought she would surprise Anna and hand deliver her gifts. Of course, she can't open them until the 25th!
Anna surprised me with some gifts too. Inside that wrapping are some very yummy looking bikkies. Will save them for my coffee later! It was lovely getting to know you Anna. Now to start thinking about what I will make for your Santa Sack!
