OPAM for June

Can you believe it's the end of June already! Only three finished items for this month but I'm not too fussed as
I finished a couple of bigger projects.

My Great Granny Ruby quilt. I was going to try to
take a better photo outside but then I remembered
I don't have a camera! So this photo will have to do.
The quilt looks much nicer in person.

Then there was my Tumbler Baby Quilt. Not long to go now before it will be passed on to it's new little owner!

My little Christmas stitchery hoop.

I'll have more to show you for July as I have my Tilda and Christmas in July swap parcels almost ready to post off.
I'll have to visit Mel and borrow her camera. We haven't had a chance to go looking at new cameras yet.

Thanks to Peg and Kris for keeping us inspired with OPAM.

Ads Are Gone And A Finish!

Yeah! I got rid of all those horrible ads that kept popping up all over my blog. So glad you didn't have to put up with them. Melody's son Jack gave me a suggestion to get rid of them and it worked. Thank you, Jack.
Now to fix up my background!
I've had a little Christmas finish. I really love how
the hoops look with a stitchery in it.
I'll definitely be making more of these.

Linking up with Anthea for Christmas Through The Year.

What I Stitched!

I managed a little sewing last night after spending some time trying to sort out the computer (with no good result!). As this is secret sewing, you can only see a little.

I was lucky to get this photo. Can you see the black corners? The shutter won't open any more than this little bit. Lucky I only wanted to show you a sneak peek. Now it looks like we'll probably have to get a new camera as it's usually cheaper to buy a new one than get one repaired! That's what happened last time.

Head over to Wendy's to see what everyone else got up to. There were 63 of us stitching along together!

Friday Night Sew-In

Tonight is Friday Night Sew-In hosted by Wendy of Sugarlane Quilts. I'm planning on doing some secret sewing!

I've also got to try to sort out what has happened to my blog. My lovely background seems to have gone walkabout! Plus there seems to be a dreaded advertising thing attached to my computer. Grrrr! It's so annoying.

See you tonight!

A Surprise Party!

Last night Mitchell headed off to Dale's for
what he thought was a movie night.
A Macca's run was done and they were
dropped here where Mitchell's friends were all waiting!
As it was a movie night, Mitchell decided to wear his new Collingwood pyjama pants! Such a lovely outfit for a party!
We had all been able to keep this a secret because as far
as Mitchell was concerned, he was having a party in a couple of weeks during the school holidays.

Noel and Nelson

Serrin, Mitchell and Zoe

Amber, Nelson, Mitchell, Renee and Matt
Liam, Dale, Renee and Zoe

Zoe, Carly, Chelsea and Steph

Nelson and Austin

Another cake!

There were a few more words this time at his speech.
Renee did a great job organising his friends.

James and Nelson (he kept popping up everywhere!)

Carly, Austin, Colleen, Jack, Seana and Glenn

Kendra, James and Claire

The funny thing is, I have been baking in front of Mitchell over the last couple of weeks and stocking up on things in the freezer. I told him I might as well make things now and then I won't have to rush when it's time for his party. I'd also say "these were on special this week, so I bought them".

It was quite funny. Hopefully, I haven't bored you too much!

Birthday Surprise!

To celebrate Mitchell's birthday, we had about 45 family and friends join us at the Lower Plenty Hotel to have dinner.

First "legal" drink!
(Don't think I can say first drink!)

Of course, there was a yummy cake.

The world's shortest speech - "Cheers for coming guys!"
(He did also thank everyone for coming and the gifts.)

Lucky his little cousin Harmony was there
to help with the candles!

But the big surprise of the night was
Noel coming home with this!

One very happy and excited boy. Especially when we
had told him we weren't getting him a car.
During Chooky's recent Chookshed Party, Peg had a giveaway and I was one of the lucky winners.
Thank you so much Peg. I just love the fabrics in the
jelly roll and the key fob will be so handy.

I'd better watch out Mitchell doesn't
pinch it for his new car keys!

Happy birthday Mitchell.
Lots of Love

Great Granny Ruby!

Another lovely night was spent stitching with friends.
I finished my Great Granny Ruby quilt! So named as I
used Bonnie and Camille's Ruby for the squares.
I backed the quilt with some Vintage Modern.
For the quilting, I chose a flower pattern very similar to the flowers on the backing. My lovely friend Leanne (Leanne's Quilting Service) did a wonderful job of the quilting for me.

I had hoped to get a little more stitched. Unfortunately, Mitchell and Austin had been sick during the week and, being the good sharing boys they are, have kindly passed it on to me! So the plan for today is to sit by the fire, watch old movies and stitch. I don't want to over do it
and hinder my recovery!

Pop over to Cheryll's to see what everyone else got up to.
Have a lovely weekend!

A Bit of This and A Bit of That!

Nelson wanted to share with you these yummy
cookies that he made at school. They were still
warm when he got down to the car and smelt devine.
 They tasted even better.
A delicious afternoon tea!
We got some more photos of the presentation ball.
I think they made a mistake here!
They either went forward when they should
have gone back or vice versa!
That's Mitchell and Lucy on the right hand side.
It's not often I get to dance with Mitchell!
It's the first Friday in the month so that means
Friday Night With Friends.
Head over to Cheryll's (Gone Stitchin') to link up.

I Don't Know About You But . . . . . .

. . . . I had a great time at the party!
I got all the ends sewn in and the binding
stitched down on my tumbler baby quilt.
 The back.
 I quilted down the tumblers.
Now we just have to wait until July for the baby to arrive!
I also got the binding stitched down on
two sides of my Great Granny quilt.

Thanks to Donna (Chookyblue) for hosting
a wonderful party over the weekend.
I hope we didn't make too much of a mess!
