A Spotty Package Arrived!

My secret partner in our Spotty Swap turned out to be none other than Keryn from Christmas Creations.
After unwrapping heaps of bubble wrap I found this gorgeous owl box.
 Inside were some spotty gifts.
WOW! Will you take a look at this gorgeous table runner! I have a few table runners but no Christmas ones, so now I do. This one fits perfectly on our table.
A close up of one of the snowmen.
How cute are the snowman bells on the ends!
There was also a cute owl mug filled with some yummy lollies and some pretty spotty ribbon.
Thank you for my lovely gifts, Keryn.
You have really spoilt me.

Thanks to Shez and Peg for organising this swap.

Let's Book It!

I thought I'd join Sharon from Vrooman's Quilts for her Let's Book It this month. Sharon is encouraging us
to pull a book off our shelves and find a new project to work on. She may have old books in mind but I wanted
to start something from my new book.
I just love Gail's new book. There is not one
project in here that I don't want to make!
One stitchery is done and the other half way through.

Head over to Sharon's to see what other books
people are making projects from.

Spots For Peg!

My partner in the Spotty Swap was the lovely Peg.
This is the hanging I made for her.
I added a few extra spotty goodies. It's a bit hard to see
but those are spotty buttons.
It was fun having you as a partner Peg.
I really enjoyed putting your parcel together.
Thanks to Shez and Peg for organising this fun swap.

Framed!

My Quilty Stitches Sampler is finally framed. I was given this frame a few years ago and it turned out to be the right size for my stitching. Still tossing up if I like the cream
with the white aida or whether I should paint it.
But for now it can stay as it is.
Thank you to Corey (Little Miss Shabby
for this great stitch along.

A New Bed For Molly!

We bought Molly a new bed as she had chewed up her bed blankets. I think she likes it. As soon as we laid it out ready to put together, Molly made herself comfortable.
Hopefully she won't chew up this bed!

Christmas Through The Year

I decided to turn the little angel I stitched into a Christmas ornament. Although I do think you could probably hang her up all year round. I've really enjoy making these ornaments.
I'm linking up with Anthea at Hibiscus Stitches for Christmas Through The Year.

What I Stitched Last Night!

We are off to a friend of Mitchell's 18th birthday tonight. I wanted to get something extra to add to Renee's present but couldn't find anything. So late Wednesday I decided I would make her a mini hanging with her initial.
I used Michelle's (Rag Tag Stitchin') Stitcher's Alphabet pattern but left off the sewing bits. I've just got to stitch the label down and then it's all ready to be wrapped up.
Thanks to Wendy for hosting another
lovely Friday Night Sew-In.
Head over to here to see what everyone else got up to.

Spoilt By Mel!

On Monday, Mel and I went out to lunch at a local cafe for my birthday. Our lunch was delicious and
we had a lovely time chatting.
Mel presented me with this Quiltmania Anni Downs bag. Inside it was full of lovely presents.
A sweet friendship mini quilt. Mel had it on a hanger but I decided to hang it on my mini quilt stand for the moment.
A cute easel with a Mel original.
A little stitched bag with one of Jenny's designs
that held some yummy chocolate.
There was also some Parlan for my stitching.
Thank you so much, Mel. You have really spoilt me.

There's Going To Be Fireworks!

Can you believe it is a year since I celebrate the big one!
This year we'll be having fireworks. It is the
Diamond Creek Fair today and tonight there will be fireworks (only a few hundred metres from home).
Not everyone gets to have fireworks on their birthday!
I opened this package to find my gift from Shez
(Enjoying Life) wrapped up in some lovely birthday fabric.
I don't know if you can make it out but the white balloons have happy birthday written all over.

Shez had made me a lovely little sewing folder. Included is a needle folder, a mini cross stitch kit and some pretty threads. Thank you so much, Shez.
I was also spoilt by Barb (Barb's Creations). Barb had crocheted me a gorgeous scarf in my favourite colour, red. I'll be all set for next year's footy season. The photo has come out a bit bright. The red is actually a deeper colour. Thank you for my lovely scarf, Barb.
The lovely Jenny of Elefantz sent me a copy of her newly released pattern, Holly Bird Designs. Have you seen it? There are six projects to choose from. You can get them from her Craftsy Shop. She has it for a special introductory price until the 17th September.
Now which project will I make first?
Thank you for this lovely gift, Jenny.

Isn't blogging a wonderful thing!
I have been blessed with so many friends.

I'm planning not to do too much today. My family are all coming over for tea. My brother Neville is visiting from Sydney and is preparing the meal!

A Day Sewing!

Football has finished for the year here
at MacDonald's Patch. That meant last Sunday
we could just stay home and do nothing!

I headed into my sewing room and made some more covered hangers for the present drawer.

I used this free pattern from Val Laird. It's a great
pattern and I've now made nearly 30 of them!

So, six items to add to my OPAM
with Peg and Kris this month.

Friday Night With Friends

For once there was no running around after the boys so it was lovely to finish dinner and just sit down to stitch. Mitchell and Austin headed off to the MCG to watch the final between Hawthorn and Geelong and Nelson went to youth group and then stayed over at his friend's place.
This is what I stitched. A sweet little angel.
Thanks to Chez for once again being a wonderful hostess.
Head over here to see what everyone else got up to.

A Birthday and Friday Night With Friends!

Today is my lovely friend, Shez' birthday.
Photo pinched borrowed from Shez.
So Happy Birthday Shez.
I hope you have a wonderful day.
Hugs, Christine xx

Why don't you pop over here
and wish her a happy birthday too.
What better way to help celebrate Shez' birthday than Friday Night With Friends hosted by Chez!
We can all sing Happy Birthday to her!
