Christmas Decorating Today!

 Nelson with his helper, Molly.
Just to show I was helping too!
Molly getting into the spirit of it.
 But not for long!
Lots of new Christmas things this year.
 My Blogging Friends Christmas tree
has a couple of new additions.
I should have put the tree lights on for you.
Christmas mini quilts. Three new ones for this Christmas.
It's lovely to now be able to put out the gorgeous Christmas gifts I received in swaps this year.
My Christmas in July from Michell (Michell's Place).
The little reindeer.
Let It Snow hanging.
The third new one is my Making Spirits Bright.
Karen (Sunburnt Quilts) made me the gorgeous
snowman and penguin in our Tilda Swap.
These two have been sitting in my cabinet in the sewing room, patiently waiting to come out!
I can finally put out my gorgeous table runner
Keryn (Christmas Creations) made for our Spotty Swap.

Now to put up the outside lights.
I think I'll leave that until tomorrow.

A New Christmas Project!

I've had this book for a few years and have now
finally started something out of it.
I'm making the Naughty and Nice List hanging.
I haven't decided for sure who will get this.
Once I do, I can then embroider the name tags.
I'm linking up with Sharon from Vrooman's Quilts
for her Let's Book It.

What Came Home With Me From Mill Rose Cottage!

I've had so much news to tell you that I hadn't had a chance to show you what I brought home from our
Mill Rosie Friends Get Together.

After all the swapping, re-swapping and swapping again,
I came home with gifts from Anne (Barb's sister).
Out of the 19 of us, there were 4 Anne's!
A brooch and a hanging cone (I think that's what you
call them) filled with yummy chocolate.
How gorgeous is this Santa brooch!
Shez spoilt me with these gorgeous gifts. Look at that beautiful Christmas keepsake pin cushion. Santa's tummy and pom pom lights up and changes colour! It's a bit hard to see but the gold is a cute elephant purse that Shez brought back from her recent trip to Thailand.
Barb also spoilt me with these gorgeous goodies. A crocheted doily, candle, mini cushion, mug and some coffee sachets. I just love the pretty crocheted doily. And there's more choccies in the hanging cone too.
I'm very lucky to have one of Chez' little bonnet girl
needle cases. The wooden pin cushion was made
by her brother and some more lollies.
Lucky I have helpers to eat all these sweeties with me!
Look at this gift tree from Mel. What a clever idea.
I have two more ornaments to add to my Bloggy Friends Christmas Tree. Thank you Tania and Helen. Barb had been baking and there was also a little bag of yummy things from Marg. O'faigh had some lucky dips and I received a decorated pine cone. I hope I haven't forgotten anyone.
Two little purchases. Some of the hard to find
Cottage Garden Threads "Mistletoe"
and spotty fabric for stitchery backgrounds.

Thank you to everyone and thank you for another
wonderful day at Mill Rose Cottage.

The Little Peach House Goes To . . . . . .

Thank you to everyone who entered my giveaway to celebrate the 5th birthday of MacDonald's Patch.
I decided to draw the winner the old fashioned way.
Everyone's name was put into a crystal glass bowl.
Nelson then picked out a name.
 And the Little Peach House hanging goes to . . . . . .
 Maddy!

Maddy was the first to comment.
So it just goes to show that number one can win!

Congratulations, Maddy.

FNSI And A Prize

I didn't get to sew last night as I was running Austin and Nelson around but did get a little done in the car park at school.  I appliqued this little fellow onto his background and prepared it ready for making an ornament.

I plan to join the girls in the Northern hemisphere
today and work on my Dresden plate cushions.
Kim from Wisdom With Needle and Thread had a 200 follower giveaway recently and I was the lucky winner.
It is the sweetest little Limoges box
that Kim has decorated herself.

Look at the detail.
Kim also added some extra goodies into my package. You can see how small the box is compared to the threads.

Thank you so much, Kim.
Now to find a special place to keep it!

Tomorrow is your last chance to enter my giveaway.
You can find it on this post.

Valedictory Dinner!

 Last night we attended Mitchell's
Year 12 Valedictory Dinner.

It was a wonderful night. There was a slide show of their school years from Year 7 up till now. Those young boys and girls have now grown into mature young men and women.
It is so lovely to have these memories to look back on.
It's something we never had at school.
The teachers read out affirmations about each student. Somehow though, Mitchell managed to get two!
One from his Business Studies teacher and
one from his VCAL teacher.
 James, Mitchell and Zoe.
Magill, Mitchell Kendra, Carly, Steph, Renee and James.

So 13 years of school have now come to an end.
Just one more thing to go, Presentation Night.

Congratulations to the Class of 2014.

It's Friday Night Sew-In tonight.
You can sign up with Wendy here.

My giveaway is here.

Christmas Cake and Pin Cushions!

We have a Christmas cake all ready for Christmas Day.
Austin made and decorated the cake at school.
I think he's done a wonderful job of it.
I've made five pin cushions for the present drawer.
Once again, I have used one of Gail's patterns
from her Patchwork Loves Embroidery book.

You can find my giveaway here.

I'm linking up with Anthea.
