A Finish and An Award

I finally had a chance to finish the binding on my
Vintage Modern quilt II.
Here's Vintage Modern quilt I.
The two go well with the colour of the lounges.
I think Molly likes them!
Last night Mitchell went to the Diamond Creek Cricket Club Presentation Night. He won the Batting Average for the 3rd XI 2016/2017. Mitchell made 173 runs with an average of 57.67.  Another trophy to add to the collection!
Congratulations Mitchell.

2017 Football Season Starts!

Today is the official start of the 2017 NFL junior football season. Unfortunately for Nelson, we weren't able to get an Under 17's team at Yarrambat. Nelson made the decision to finish his final year in junior footy at Eltham JFC.

Still can't get use to seeing him in red and black!
So Nelson is now an Eltham Panther.
Noel and I are still at Yarrambat, me as Secretary and
Noel on Committee and a life member!

Have a great final season Nelson!

Two posts in one day! I think that's a first for me!

YJFC Sportsmans Lunch and FNWF

Friday saw Mitchell and I up at Yarrambat Junior Football Club for their 2017 Sportsmans lunch.
I was an invited guest as Secretary of the Club and
Mitchell was helping out in the bar.
One of the guest speakers was former AFL player, Brendan Fevola. Mitchell was pretty excited to meet him.
Brendan was a very entertaining speaker.
I didn't get home until after 8pm as I ended up working
in the bar. After a long day up at the Club, I really
wasn't up to doing any stitching. So I joined the girls in the
Northern Hemisphere for FNWF on Saturday.

I managed to get some more binding stitched down on my large Vintage Modern quilt. It was put aside as I had a special project to get made so I could get it to my quilter
as it is for a wedding gift in early June.
Thank you for being such a lovely hostess Chez.
You see can what everyone got up to here.

Stitching Day With Gail Pan and Bonnie Sullivan

Saturday morning saw Mel and I head off
to Narre Warren for a fun day of stitching
Bonnie is from Oregon and her website is All Through The Night. Bonnie's projects had wool applique, something
I have only done once before.

We were given four beautiful projects.
Gail's "See My Sewing" project bag.
 "Bountiful Bees" table runner.

A close up of Gail's bountiful bees stitchery.
Bonnie's "There's No Place Like Home" . This is one of her new patterns with preprinted backgrounds.
"Cherry Ripe", Bonnie's second project.

Just to show you that I actually managed
to get some stitching done, along with all the
chatting, eating and shopping!
Thank you Gail and Bonnie for a fabulous day. And thanks to my lovely friend Mel for the great company.
It's always a fun day when Mel and I go out.
