Chookshed Stitchers 2024 Challenge - February

It's nearly the end of February and time to share
our next Chookshed Stitchers 2024 Challenge projects.
I had listed Project #2 as a mystery but now it is gifted,
I can share it with you.

This is the quilt I made for Austin and Paris
on the occasion of their marriage.
Being a modern quilt, I was so out of my
comfort zone as I don't "do modern"!
But I have to say I am very pleased
with how it turned out. I made it for the
back of their couch, especially for
Paris as she loves to curl up under a blanket watching tv!

I also made Paris a wedding charm.
Decided not to make a horseshoe as I wanted to stitch
the monogram I had stitched onto the covered hanger
I had made for her bridal shower.
Again I used the same fabric from my wedding dress.
The ribbon rose was also from my wedding dress.
For Austin, I embroidered a hanky for him
to have in his pocket at their wedding.
Well, today is the big day!
I'll have lots of photos to share with you.

I haven't forgotten about my Scotland
photos but I've been a bit busy.
I'll get to them soon!

Paris' Hen's Celebration

A couple of weeks ago, we had a
Hen's Celebration for Paris.
Started out the day at "Champainting" where we
painted a Picasso style picture of Paris
while sipping champagne.
Paris painted Austin!

We were entertained by "Jackie",
a drag queen who was very entertaining.
Jackie and Paris.

Our paintings!
We all decided we won't be taking up painting! Haha!
Meg was our instructor and this is the
painting of Paris and Ralph (Austin and Paris' dog)
which she gifted to Paris.
I'm so excited to have Paris as my daughter.
Then it was off to The Windsor for High Tea.
A special lemon meringue pie just for Paris.
Austin waiting when we got back home.
Not sure if you can see it, but he is
modelling Paris' "Bride To Be" headband.

We had such a wonderful day.
Now for the big one!

Chookshed Stitchers 2024 Challenge - January

It's the first of February and I'm a bit late to report on our
Chookshed Stitchers 2024 Challenge projects.
January was project #6 which I had listed as Mystery Project #1.

My January project was for my soon to be daughter-in-law, Paris.

Now that I gifted these to Paris at her
Bridal Shower I can share photos.

I made Paris a covered hanger for her wedding dress.
It is made from the same fabric that my wedding dress
was made of. My brother and I made my wedding dress
and I still had left over fabric. I would have happily cut
up my actual dress to make the hanger as having three boys,
no-one was going to want to wear it!

I also made Paris a garter to wear on their special day.
I couldn't find a nice charm so added the drop pearl bead.
My wedding headpiece (above) was also handmade
using some of these beads so again I
have added a touch of our wedding to Paris and Austin's.

Deana has now announced our February project number.
Number 2 on my list is Mystery Project #2.
You may have now guessed that it's something to do with
the wedding so you'll have to wait a bit to find out what it is!

I haven't forgotten about sharing our amazing
two month trip to Scotland and England.
After hours and hours (and hours),
I have finally got my photos sorted into order.
When they uploaded, they were all over the place so I manually
went through my phone and renumbered everything in date order.
All 4342 of them!

Hopefully it won't take me too long but as the wedding
is in three weeks, I might be a little busy!
