Friday Night Sew-In and Wombats!

Last night I worked on one of the stitcheries for our next
Tilda Lovers Club Stitchalong. We are getting the stitcheries
ready for when we start the stitchalong next week. Managed to get a bit done while watching Paint Your Wagon.
I've never watched it before and I really enjoyed it.
Thank you to Wendy from Sugarlane Designs for hosting us.
You can see what others got up to here.
This morning I was sitting in the lounge having my cuppa
and something caught my eye. A mother wombat and her baby
came up from the creek to the top of our driveway.
They then went through the fence into next door.
We often have wombats come through at night
(and make escape holes for Rex!) but we don't
usually see them at 9 o'clock in the morning.
We had a lot of rain overnight.
Maybe that's why she was so late bringing the baby up.
This is the bridge next to our place.
The Diamond Creek is now a "river"!
That tree leaning in the water is usually above the water line.
This photo was taken on the bridge.

Happy Friday, Christine. It sounds like a wonderful Friday Sew In . I always love seeing your embroidery projects and you inspire me to improve my stitching. Your pieces are always gorgeous. That is the cutest mama and baby wombat. What a treat to see. Thank you for sharing. Have a great weekend and stay safe from the rains.

How sweet is the mama wombat and her little one. Wombats are so sweet. We see a lot here. Goodness you have had a lot of rain. Your stitchery is pretty. Enjoy your stitching.

Great film and lovely stitching Christine. What a treat for your early morning viewing! Hope the rising water does not cause a problem. xx

Great progress on your pretty stitchery. That is a lot of water under the bridge. Stay dry and lovely photo of mum and bub.

Wow that’s a lot of water. The creek is running high and fast. Those wombats are cute to watch but can do some damage. Lovely stitching too.

Your Tilda stitcheries look wonderful Christine. I saw the wombat Mum & baby on your Instagram post & thought how special that was. They are much bigger than I had imagined - not sure why. Have a great weekend Christine. xx

Your stitcheries are very pretty. Very special to see the wombat and baby, but not so good to have holes in the fence for an escaping dog!

Good grief, I can't remember the last time I saw the creek running so high!...definitely not the usual time to see wombats out and about...the Tilda stitcheries are going to be lovely...
