Chookshed Stitchers 2024 Challenge - January

It's the first of February and I'm a bit late to report on our
Chookshed Stitchers 2024 Challenge projects.
January was project #6 which I had listed as Mystery Project #1.

My January project was for my soon to be daughter-in-law, Paris.

Now that I gifted these to Paris at her
Bridal Shower I can share photos.

I made Paris a covered hanger for her wedding dress.
It is made from the same fabric that my wedding dress
was made of. My brother and I made my wedding dress
and I still had left over fabric. I would have happily cut
up my actual dress to make the hanger as having three boys,
no-one was going to want to wear it!

I also made Paris a garter to wear on their special day.
I couldn't find a nice charm so added the drop pearl bead.
My wedding headpiece (above) was also handmade
using some of these beads so again I
have added a touch of our wedding to Paris and Austin's.

Deana has now announced our February project number.
Number 2 on my list is Mystery Project #2.
You may have now guessed that it's something to do with
the wedding so you'll have to wait a bit to find out what it is!

I haven't forgotten about sharing our amazing
two month trip to Scotland and England.
After hours and hours (and hours),
I have finally got my photos sorted into order.
When they uploaded, they were all over the place so I manually
went through my phone and renumbered everything in date order.
All 4342 of them!

Hopefully it won't take me too long but as the wedding
is in three weeks, I might be a little busy!

Friday Night With Friends and Zooming

It's been a long time since I've joined in FNWF.
In fact, when I had a look it was back in April 2023!
Last night I worked on a secret project so not much to show you!

Thank you to Chez for hosting us.
Hopefully I'll be joining in more regularly this year.
That's the plan anyway!

Today I've spent a lovely few hours zooming with
 Chooky and the Chookshed Stitchers.
It's always so nice stitching along with these girls.

Why Didn't Anyone Tell Me.........

Haha! Why didn't anyone tell me
I only had eight projects on my list and not ten!
Here are the two I forgot to add.

9. Make a cushion cover from my Tilda fabric stash

10. Sunny Days Bunting (start)

In my original post, I did say I might change the order
of projects around and I have. The two mystery projects
are being gifted in February and as Deana has
chosen project #6 for us to work on in January,
Mystery project #1 is now #6!

I have updated my list on my sidebar.

Well, I'd better get back to working on my project!

Chookshed Stitchers 2024 Challenge

I'm a member of the Chookshed Stitchers run by Chookyblue
Deana from Dreamworthy Quilts has come up with a great idea
for a Chookshed Stitchers 2024 Challenge.

We each make a list of 10 sewing related projects.
From January to October, on the first of the month,
Deana will be draw out a number and everyone will work
on their project corresponding to that number.
Then each month we do a blog post about our challenge projects.

These are my 10 projects.
I'm not aiming to finish each project within the
month, just to work on them. If I do finish a project,
that's a bonus. I have a couple of secret projects,
so you won't get to see them until later.

 1.    Secret project #1

2.    Secret project #2

3.    Tilda hexagon quilt (work on)

4.    Heart Strings stitcheries (work on)

5.    Christmas Blessings felt ornaments (work on)
6.     Make tea towel aprons

7.    Santa sack (for new baby girl or boy due in family)
8.    Make Ready for Christmas stitcheries (work on)

I may change the order of my projects around
if the number drawn out by Deana doesn't work for me.

You are welcome to join in on this challenge but you need to be a blogger.
Head over to Deana's blog to read all about the challenge.
