April OPAM

Another small tally this month.
Two fat quarter bags for April.

Thanks to Peg and Kris for keeping us inspired.
I'm off to my sewing room to play with these!
Hopefully I'll have my first OPAM for May tomorrow!

Austin's Bungy Jump!

After showing you Noel's skydiving, I realised I never
got to show you Austin's Bungy Jump from when he
went to New Zealand last year.
He looks so much more elegant jumping that I did
back in 1989! I couldn't bring myself to dive
and just sort of fell foward!

Austin really loved doing this. Nelson is looking forward to his turn when he heads to NZ with school next year.
You can watch him jump here.

Noel's Skydiving Adventure!

After being postponed for a couple of weeks, yesterday Noel got to do his tandem jump. There was
a delay due to the fog but once it lifted,
it was a perfect day to jump
out of a perfectly good plane!
 Getting harnessed.
 Practicing for landing.
 Prejump interview.
 Time to go!
That's Ritchie, his new best mate.

 Next!
 Looking a bit worried here.

 Thumbs up!
 Coming in for the landing.
 We even got a wave.

 Touch down!

 WooHoo!
 The Support Team.
See, I do wear something other than dresses!

So there you have it.
Noel finally got his 60th birthday present.

Some Sewing!

When Maria and Sandra came to dinner, I wanted to
give them a little something to take home.
So I made them a fat quarter bag each.
Now when they use them, they can think of their visit here.

A Fun Couple Of Days

On Friday I made my way to the Royal Exhibition Building for AQC. But what was more exciting is that I was finally going to meet Maria from Life On The Block. Maria and her daughter Sandra (Playing Tiddleywinks) had come over from Western Australia and are spending a few days here. Maria and I have been corresponding with each other for about 5 years after we were teamed up as swap partners in 2011.
We also met up with Helen (Helen's Patchwork Passion) and Sue (no blog). Of course, there were lots of other people
I bumped into but too many to mention!
Finally got a photo of Sue!
I bet you're wondering what I bought at AQC. Nothing very exciting! Some white hanky linen and a bottle of Bubble Jet Set for making my quilt labels as I had run out. There were so many beauftiful things that I just couldn't decide. I only had one thing on my list and that was straw needles. I didn't find the ones I wanted so that was one thing less. My main reason for going was to meet Maria and Sandra.
Maria and Sandra came to our place last night for dinner. Mel was supposed to join us so she could also meet the girls but unfortunately she is in hospital again. Sending you get well wishes Mel. We missed you.
Don't you just love my new little friend!
He was a gift from Maria and Sandra and was beautifully made by Maria. I've been wanted to make myself one of these for a long time. Now I don't have to!

He's now living with the rabbits!

I've had a lovely couple of days spending time with Maria and Sandra. Hopefully, one day I'll get to visit them in WA.

A Quick Catch Up!

Yesterday Mel and I caught up with Kaye from Kitten Stitching and Anna (no blog). It has been such a long
time since we have seen these two ladies.
We met at Jam and Cream in Macleod.
This is such a lovely place with all it's vintage decorations. Unfortunately, mine was a very quick visit as I was in between dropping Nelson off in Preston and
then heading to Epping to pick up Austin.

Thanks for sharing a cuppa and chat, girls.

Are You Going To AQC?

I'm going on Friday and meeting up with
some very special ladies.

Maria from Life On The Block and her daughter, Sandra from Playing Tiddleywinks are coming over from Western Australia and we are finally going to get to meet in person.

Helen (Helen's Patchwork Passion) and Sue (no blog)
are going to meet up with us too.
Hopefully, Melody will also make it.

We plan to stop for a cuppa and lunch about 12.30 in the dining area. If you are there, keep an eye out for us. Or you may see us walking up and down the shopping aisles!

It's Official!

 We are MacDonald's Patch!
This has been Noel's project. I think he's done a great job.
The wood is from a hundred year old bridge.
It was such a nice piece that Noel didn't want
to cut it up for firewood.
For 26 years, this has been our number at the base of the letterbox. It's now on the wood pile ready for the Coonara!
