Catching Up!

It's now March and I haven't posted any finishes
but I have been working on a few things.
I actually finished Kade's Hound Dog back in
January but waited until I gave it to him.
This is a little Tilda heart in memory of Catherine,
one of the lovely members of the Tilda Lovers Club
and Kitty Rose Cottage Community Facebook
groups who recently passed away.
Dawn (Kitty Rose Cottage) organised for
members to make hearts and they were given
out to some family and friends to be
placed on her coffin as a gesture of
love and remembrance from her on-line friends.
At our recent Chit Chat Crafters stitching day,
we all worked on a little project.
A diamond dots purse. It was quite relaxing.
I've also been working on a baby quilt for a
special little girl due in a couple of months.
My long neglected hexagon
quilt has finally seen the light of day
and a little progress has been made on it.

This is my first large applique quilt.
It's now with my lovely quilter Leanne
who is going to work her magic on it.
Finally, some felt ornaments.
I'm not putting them together as per the pattern
but have something else in mind.

So, although I've only had 3 little finishes,
I have been working on other projects.
Hopefully, I can show you the finished items soon.

Rabbits!

For Kade's first Easter, I have made him this rabbit.
It is made from the Tilda Woodland range.

I was in a rabbit making mood, so I made more rabbits.
One each for my boys beautiful girls, Steph, Paris and Chloe.
Of course I made all the rabbits in Tilda fabric!

 This is Cynthia!
At our recent Chit Chat Crafters get together,
one of the girls brought kits for us to make a little doll.
A bit of fun but I don't think I'll be making any more!
Well, there's only 4 more sleeps before I head
up to Corowa to pick up Sharmayne and we
make our way to Scrub Stitchin' at Baradine.
I'm sure I'll have lots to share when we get back.

I can't believe that Kade is 1 month old already.
He is doing well and putting on weight.
Going to miss my cuddles while I'm away!

Something Different - A Christmas Wreath!

A group of my friends, the Chit Chat Crafters,
decided we were going to make Christmas wreaths.
We planned to make them for Christmas 2023
but it just never happened. Then we planned to make
them last November ready for Christmas 2024
but that didn't happen either!
A couple of weeks ago we finally managed to make them!
This is what we started out with along with a range of baubles.
My finished wreath.

A close up of my little birds.

Everyone's finished wreaths
all ready for Christmas 2025!

It was a lot of fun making these.

Friday Night With Friends

I finally got the binding on and began stitching it down on the Nativity.
I haven't stitched the top binding on yet as I'm still deciding how I am going to
hang it - with a rod pocket or tabs. It will either be hung with a
gold rod and cord or perhaps a star hanger.
Saturday was spent with the Chit Chat Crafters.
This time we didn't work on our stitching, we had a special project.
We decorated magnets with "Diamond Dots".
There wasn't much chit chat as we were all
concentrating on the task at hand!
You can see where I have worked on the bottom section.
It was actually quite relaxing.
All finished!  I really enjoyed making this but I think it will be a one off.
Thank you to Chez for hosting us.
You can see what the others worked on here.

First Friday Night With Friends For 2019

It's hard to believe we are starting another year of FNWF!
I have finally finished stitching my "Twas The Night Before Christmas"
(would have looked much better if I'd ironed it first!).
I continued stitching today with a lovely group of ladies,
the Chit Chat Crafters. Today we worked on our own projects.
I decided my hexagons had been neglected for long enough.
I stitched together Row 8 and added it to the quilt top.
Thank you to Chez for being our hostess again this year.
You can see what others got up to here.
Well, I'm off to finish packing.
Noel and I are heading to Sydney tomorrow and then flying
to Norfolk Island on Monday. I can't wait as it's been somewhere
I've wanted to visit for a very long time. Of course I've packed
some stitching, mainly for on the plane but I may manage
a little extra done while we are sitting on our verandah watching the view!

Friday Night Sew-In

This is the second FNSI for November. Somehow I missed the first one!
I got an early start on Thursday when I filled some lavender
sachets with my homegrown and dried lavender.
Friday night I started stitching the sachets closed.
I continued on Saturday at a stitching day with a group I'm in -
the Chit Chat Crafters. I made this! Can you guess what it is?
 It's a mini pop-up thread bin.
It's to go with the sewing set I'm making.
Just one more thing to be made and the set will be complete.
Thanks to Wendy at Sugarlane Designs for hosting us.

Friday Night Sew-In For May

Friday started out with some preparation work.
I cut out the fabrics for the sewing kit I am making.
Next up was eight bias strips ready for making folded stars.
On Saturday, our Chit Chat Crafters group were meeting at our place
and I was showing them how to make the stars.
FNSI continued with the girls in the Northern Hemisphere.
I made my self two more stars while demonstrating them to the girls.
They all made two each as well. All the different colour combinations
were lovely. I forgot to take a photo of everyone's stars.
So now I have four folded stars to do something with!
Finally finished the last few stitches on my needle case.
Stitched four hexagons together until I accidently pulled the thread
from the needle. For some reason, I just couldn't re-thread it and my threader
was hiding somewhere in the sewing room. I need to have a clean out!
So I made a start on the last of these stitcheries for little banners.
A bit of stitching was achieved in between all the chatting and eating!
Thank you to Wendy for being such a lovely hostess.
You can see what everyone else got up to here.

Friday Night Sew-In for April

Due to a family commitment on Friday night, I joined the ladies in the Northern hemisphere on Saturday and stitched along with them. I'm a member of a little group called the Chit Chat Crafters. Sometimes we work on our own projects and other times we work on a craft project together. Yesterday was work on your own project.
I spent the day stitching down the binding on my double wedding ring quilt. Managed to get quite a bit done and now there's only about one side and a little more to go! I'd left my thimble at home so by the end of the day I had a very sore finger!
It's so much easier not stitching this at home as Rex insists on sitting on my lap or
cuddling up next to me when I'm stitching. I don't want to get this one dirty or
covered in hair as I will be putting this in our guild's quilt show in October.
We had a little visitor with us on Saturday. This is six year old Harmony with her grandmother, Silvia (my SIL). When we finished lunch, Harmony announced
she wanted to make a quilt. After checking out Silvia's fabrics, they worked out
a design and Harmony started making her first quilt.
She managed to get quite a bit done before it was time to pack up to go home.
Thank you to Wendy for hosting us.
You can see what everyone else got up to here.
