A Couple of Finishes

Several of these jars with removable centre in the lids were given to me.
I embroidered some little flowers and turned one jar into a pin cushion.
After several attempts to get the cushion part in, I finally succeeded.
I'll definitely make a couple more of these.
This is an apron I made for Paris to go with the cookbook I bought her for Christmas. Once again I made it out of a tea towel.
Perfect for wiping your hands when cooking!

These are my final finishes for 2017 (unless some miracle happens!).
The boys are off to the cricket tomorrow so I plan to spend the day
sitting on the couch, stitching and watching movies.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

Just In Time!

Just in time for Christmas, I finally got around to framing this. It is called "Christmas Collage" by Gail Pan. It's a bit hard to see but the ric rac is chenille. My newest addition to my Christmas decorating.

Friday Night Sew-In

Can you believe it was the last FNSI for 2017! I'm sure I'm like a lot of you and worked on Christmas gifts.
I made 8 lavender sachets to go along with a gift.
They look much nicer tied up in a bow!
The last of my Christmas sewing all done.

A big thank you to Wendy for being a
wonderful hostess throughout the year.
It has been lovely stitching along with everyone.
I'm looking forward to stitching along again in 2018.

Merry Christmas to all the Friday Night Sew-In-ers!

Still can't manage to get one of those nice backgrounds
to work but at least this makes the blog look a little better.

Stacks of Sacks!

I decided to make all the great nieces and nephews Santa sacks as part of their present. They'll be able to use them each year. I made the boys one each several years ago and always took them with us to the family Christmas. They were very roomy and each one put all their presents into their sacks. That way nothing got left behind.

We had the MacDonald family Christmas last Sunday.
The sacks were a big hit.
I also made one for Austin's girlfriend, Paris.

October's OPAM

Well, it is One Project A Month and
that's what I've finished - one!
I am so happy with my caddy.
Thank you to Peg and Kris for keeping us inspired.

My Time, My Place Caddy

Remember this?
It is now this.
I've finished my "My Time, My Place Caddy".

I'm so pleased with how it turned out.
Pockets at the end.
Even the base is gorgeous.
Of course, it wasn't without it's hiccups! When I turned the bag through, the handles were on the inside of the lining!
I'm keeping this one for me.

One Project A Month

Another month has flown by. At least I had a couple of finishes this time. My two Marie Antionette cushions.

Thanks to Peg and Kris for keeping us inspired.
Anorina from Samelia's Mum recently took part in the Making Connections blog hop . I was her lucky winner
of a copy of the ebook "Making Connections".
Thank you Anorina.
Thought I'd show you my progress on my sewing caddy.
All the stitching is now completed. Now to put it together.

Let them Eat Cake!

A family member has a special birthday coming up
and loves Marie Antionette. Trying to think of something to make, I started to look for Marie Antoinette fabric.
Imagine my surprise when I came across these printed
fabric panels. I decided to make a pair of cushions.
 Aren't the panels gorgeous!
Finding the right fabrics was a bit tricky
but I think these ended up working well.
I used Fairy Frost by Michael Miller.

OPAM and Molly Has A Friend Sleepover!

For the first time since 2012,
I have NO finishes for the month! Nothing, zero, zip! I seem to have lost my sewing mojo. Hopefully, I can find it soon. I have done a little stitching and have been helping Nelson with a sewing project for school which is at least something.
Thanks to Peg and Kris for organising OPAM.
This is Mogwai.
She is Austin's girlfriend, Paris' dog. She has been having a sleep over here while Austin is in Queensland with Paris and her family enjoying the beautiful weather up there.
They seem to be ignoring each other here. It's a bit different staying overnight rather than just coming for a walk together. Mogwai had been coming over for walks
for a few weeks to get used to each other.
It took a little be of trial and error for them to get coordinated when taking them for a walk by myself.
 This way?
 No, this way!
 Finally, sorted out.
Austin making a new friend. Look at that blue sky!
Seems they are having lots of fun.
Not too sure about that pose of Austin's though!
