commenting with your vote. How cool is that!
I did have a nice sleep and dreamt about the most amazing quilt a dog could have. I wonder if it will come true.

Thanks again for visiting me and hopefully voting for me.

Thanks to Jacque, Padsworth and DragonDrop

We Almost Missed It!

Hi Everyone.
It's Molly here.

Did you know it's time for the Pets on Quilts 2016 Show hosted by Jacque, Padsworth and DragonDrop
over at Lily Pad Quilting

We nearly missed it as Mum Christine has been so busy helping organise Nelson's Football Best and Fairest Night.
I reminded her this morning that we needed
to get our entry ready.
Waiting for Mum to get organised.
While I'm waiting I'll show you my entry from last
year's show. I was looking after Dad Noel as he was sick.
You can read about it here
Looks like Mum is ready. This is our Chook House quilt.
For our overseas visitors who may not know, here in Australia we call chickens chooks!
I was really lucky last year and won the Dog on Quilt section. This is my prize. A "Best In Show" layer cake. Mum had planned to make me a special quilt with my layer cake by this year's show but life just got in the way. With three boys (and Dad) in the house, she is always busy.
Maybe I'll have it by next year's show!

Mum has entered me in the Dog on Quilt section again this year. Don't forget to head over to Lily Pad Quilting to see all the other wonderful pets on quilts.
Thanks for visitng.
I'm just going to have a sleep now and
dream about my new quilt.

Woofy Hugs,
Molly

An Unexpected Award!

Yesterday, at the Yarrambat Junior Football Club Presentation Day, Noel was inducted as a
Life Member of the Club.
This is when his name was announced.
It was totally unexpected but well deserved.
Noel was very emotional when he received his award.
Lucky his fellow Life Members and great friends, Anthony and Shelley, were on stage to support him.

Congratulations Noel.
We are all so proud of you.
Love Christine, Mitchell, Austin and Nelson.

Nelson's Best and Fairest Night

Last night was the Yarrambat Junior Football Club
Under 17's Best and Fairest Vote Count.
I was on the Committee organising the night.
This is the room all set ready for the night.
We even had a red carpet for the boys and
their partners to walk down.
The table centres.
Nelson and his partner, Caylee.
Our family.
Mitchell and Austin were bar men.
Just waiting for everyone to arrive.
Nelson received this trophy for "Consecutive Years played at Yarrambat Junior Football Club Auskick - U17". He also has his name up on the Continuous Service Board.

It was the end of junior football for most of Nelson's team mates. As Nelson played up a year (he should be in Under 16's but there was no U16 team), we are all hoping that we can get an Under 17's team next year.
If not, Nelson will have to change clubs.

Nelson said this has been his best ever year of football!

2016 NOTYQ Retreat

I picked up Mel and we loaded up the car.
Good thing I have a station wagon!
First thing we did was have a cuppa so we could decide which way we would head to Lake Dewar Lodge in Myrniong for our NOTYQ Retreat. We had both been so busy we hadn't had a chance to plan our adventure.
We decided to head off to Fairfield and went to GJ's (forgot to take a photo there). Next stop was The Cutting Cloth owned by Kellie. This is such a beautiful shop.
We made our way up to Gisborne and had some lunch at the 3 Little Pigs Cafe. The two of us both had the homemade Beef Goulash Pie. It was delicious!
Of course, we had to go to Patch n Quilt
Who should we find there but our lovely friend, Margaret.
We also met Gabbie (in the green) who was best
friends with our late friend, Tania.
Next stop, Mill Rose Cottage. Here I am measuring my Double Wedding Ring Quilt. I have decided I just don't like the backing fabric I had and as I am unpicking the quilting I have already done (although not that much), it was a good chance to purchase something I would be happier with. It is now going to be quilted by the lovely Leanne.
I found the perfect one. This is so close to the corner stones I have on the front of the quilt. Not bad since the fabrics I used are 17 years old. I also picked up some lovely red check and a Cottage Garden Thread just because!
This is the project I worked on on Friday night.
My Naughty and Nice List!
I appliqued the centre onto the background.
Stitched the name tags. Now to put everything together.
On Saturday, Jenny from Gemelli Girls
gave us a lesson in fabric colouring.
All I need to do now is stitch the outlines and make
my cute little teddy bear into something.
Saturday night Mel and I may or may not
have drunk a bottle of champagne!
The rest of the time I worked on my hexagons.
Three rows of my first panel are now put together.

Thanks Mel for being such a wonderful
partner in crime over the weekend!
And that's another NOTYQ retreat over.

Friday Night With Friends at Retreat!

I spent Friday Night With Friends at NOTYQ Retreat.
This is what I worked on.
I appliqued the centre onto the background.
Then stitched our names for the tags.
Thanks to Cheryll for being such a lovely hostess.
I'll tell you about retreat in another post.

100 Games!

Today Nelson had his 100 games banner
at the Preliminary Final.
A guard of honour by his team mates.
All that hard work gone in a couple of seconds!
 Going for a goal.
Goal!
Unfortunately the boys were outplayed today.
It was a hard fought match and they lost their
Preliminary Final by 6 points.

Congratulations Nelson.
You've had a great season.

Go Bats!

Off On Retreat!

Mel and I are off on our yearly NOTYQ retreat at Myrniong. My car is packed. Now to pick up Mel and we'll be on our way. First stop is a cuppa so we can plan our day.
We have both been so busy we haven't had a chance to decide where we want to go shopping!
We'll also be joining Cheryll for
Friday Night With Friends.
