Friday Night Sew-In

Another lovely Friday Night Sew-In. I appliqued my stitchery
to the background and then quilted around it.
Then I joined the girls in the Northern Hemisphere on Saturday and
managed to stitch a few words while at our Guild meeting.
Thank you to Wendy for being such a lovely hostess.
You can see what others got up to here.

Thank you to everyone who has been leaving me comments.
Sorry I haven't replied to you. As you probably are aware, Blogger is
no longer sending emails to let me know you have left me a message.

Op Shop Find!

When walking the dogs last week, I saw this cute little machine in the
window of a local op shop. By the time got home, it was opening time
for the shop. I gave them a call and asked for it to be put behind the
counter for me as I didn't want to miss out before I got there.
After having a closer look, it came home with me.
It is a 1940's machine manufactured by the EL Grain Sewing Machines Ltd
in Nottingham, England. You can read about them here
The plate is a bit scratched but I don't care. It's now sitting on top of the
cupboard of my Anker treadle machine I rescued from the skip a little while ago.

Noel just rolled his eyes when he spotted "another machine"!

Friday Night With Friends

I joined in a bit late last night but managed to stitch a few more words
of my "House Rules" wall hanging. This is one of Leanne Knell's
(Petals & Patches) new designs that we received at the
Fig 'n' Berry stitching soiree a couple of weeks ago.

As it's the long weekend here, there is no football for the boys.
So I'm hoping to get some more stitching in today.
Thank you to Chez for hosting us last night.

OPAM for May

Finally some finishes this month. Two folded stars.
And of course, the big one! My Double Wedding Ring quilt.
I have almost finished researching dates for the making of my quilt and
will do a post about my journey with this one soon.

Thanks to Peg and Kris for keeping us inspired.
