I made my first mug rug for a friend's birthday. I used white and aqua to match the mug. I copied some of the patterned band around the mug for the applique.
So, another project to add to my OPAM list.
I thought I'd show you my first quilt. I made it back in 1993. My aunt was going to an "Over Night Mystery Quilt" workshop and I thought it sounded interesting. To go you had to know how to do patchwork. So after a crash course I made a bag. I could then say I knew how to patch! We started at 6pm Saturday night and finished at 6am Sunday morning. It took me another six hours to finish off the top. I think I did pretty well considering I hadn't done very much patchwork before!
The name of the quilt is "Intriguing Illusions". When you look at it you see two different pattens. It is a very large quilt (76" x 94") and I quilted it by hand. If I had known then about commercial quilting I would have had it done. I don't know why the pillow cases are showing up red. They are more the colour of the burgundy fabric in the quilt.
This is a close-up of the fabrics.
Do you still have your first quilt?
