Can you believe it was the first FNWF for 2020?
I worked on my block 8 of Jenny's Phyllis May's Kitchen.
Thanks to Chez for hosting us.
You can see what the others got up to here.
We have ripped up all the carpet in the house and will
possibly be getting the concrete polished if the slab
is suitable. If not, we'll go to plan B.
Of course, this means emptying the place out.
The room I wasn't looking forward to was my sewing room.
There are so many books and magazines and stuff!
We had to remove the window to get my glass cabinet out.
The shelving has been pulled apart.
All that's left to go is the corner desk.
So where have we put my sewing room contents?
Some is in the boys' bathroom including in the bath!
There's just enough room to get to the basin, toilet and shower!
There's just enough room to get to the basin, toilet and shower!
More boxes are in our en suite.
All the books and magazines are in the lounge.
There's no carpet in the lounge so we can leave things there.
We still have all the rest of the furniture from the bedrooms
and rumpus room to be moved into the garage but that won't
happen until closer to the time they come to do the work.
Lucky I have plenty of handwork prepared as there won't be any
machine work done for a while. I probably wouldn't be able
to find anything anyway. I'll re-organise my sewing room
and will show you once it's all finished.

Sweet stitched block. How many more to go ?
OH My Goodness!!!! What a huge job.. You do have a lot of stuff. Bet you'll be doing a lot of culling before it goes back in the new sewing room.
wow. what a job..
I'm sure when it's done you will be so happy
Wow what an upheaval! I'm sure it will be worth it though! I was just looking at my sewing room this morning and thinking the paint job could be spruced up - but then shuddered at the thought of moving everything! Sweet block.
I see more handwork in front of you for a while. Good luck on getting everything back in place once the work is done.
Big job but you wont8know yourself when it's done, good luck.
That's a huge effort but will be well worth it in the end I'm sure.
You are smart having lots of hand sewing prepared too.
Thanks for joining in FNwF even under those circumstances... xox
Pretty block you are working on Christine. That is a huge job moving everything to get the carpet up, good opportunity to reorganize your sewing room though.
Super sweet block. That was a lot of work getting your craft room emptied out!
That is a lot of work - I desperately want to change the flooring in our house - but what a job! esp in the sewing room . . I'm sure it will be great when its all done & re organised.
It must be awful living in such limbo. At least you know that there will be a wonderful ending to this upheaval. Good planning on the handwork projects. It sure will be a happy reunion with your machine when all is said and done!
Lovely stitching... big job moving stuff around but it will look lovely when it's all done....

Wow! That looks like such a big job - can't wait to see the finished floor. Sweet block finish.
That looks like a lot of work. Good luck. What a great chance to discover some long forgotten goodies and have a clear out, too.
Love your pretty, hand-stitched block Christine. Wow! That looks like a mammoth task you have taken on but it always feels good to have a change and to reorganise things! I look forward to seeing the results! Happy New Year!! Christine xx
Hello Christine,
You have done the hardest bit, hope you get to have the polished floor. That would be my dream floor. Good luck with your stitching in 2020.
Happy days.
