Kimberley Outback Adventure (Part 3)

We were invited by the mob to attend a
"Junba" (Corroboree) at King Edward River.
We all camped at Munurru Camp ground for a few days.
King Edward River.

The whole mob were there and we got to
spend lots of time with the kids.
Here are Arnahm, Winston, Shianne, Scotty and Shanita.
Carmen-Lee took a liking to me and
was my constant companion!

She picked me some pretty little wild flowers.

There was lots of swimming.

How beautiful is this!
Dinner cooking in the camp oven while the sun was setting!

The night of the Junba.
Time for the girls to join in.

This fabulous photo is by Matthew Birch of
Matthew Birch Media (check out his website).
I will tell you about Matt at another time.
Shianne, Arnahm, Carmen-Lee, Winston, Scotty, Kingsley and Shanita.
The children of Kandiwal school.

This is Jeremy, one of the elders.
He gave us a personal tour of the rock art which was wonderful.
As you can imagine, I took lots of photos but here are just a few.

We got to try some Gubinge, an indigenous bush superfood.
This is a really high source of vitamin C.

An echidna.
Jeremy playing the didgeridoo.
More adventures to come!

How wonderful your trip was Christine - a great idea to document it all as I can imagine you took many photos. When visitors are not there, do the children have a permanent school teacher as such I wonder??
