Teddy Bear's Picnic!

I'm joining Melody today at the Teddy Bear's Picnic. I've brought along my very first teddy! He is over 48 years young. Teddy used to go everywhere with me. He even spent a couple of weeks in hospital when I had an operation when I was one.
As you can see, he is very well loved. In fact he is so well loved he is slowly disintegrating! There is only the tiniest bit of fur in the folds of his ears. He still has his eyes and half a smile. His arms and legs are half the size they were originally and he has a big hole in his stomach. You can see how thread bear he is on his face. Many, many years ago, our next door neighbour made him his little jump suit to help hold him together. Even that is falling apart! His insides are a sort of foam, again slowly disintegrating.

A certain older person in the household once told me to throw him out! I let him know that that is never going to happen! At least not in my lifetime!

Oh, you must keep him. Reminds me of my daughters Teddy - very threadbare, missing an eye and a replaced nose (she chewed it off). But he sits proudly in his little rocker with her first baby quilt - and she has made that same statement to her 'other'.

Oh he is a bear of substance to have lasted and been loved that long. What a testament to a great childhood friend. No you must keep him. I have my old bears to and both are blind and patched. I am sure all the other bears at the picnic will be very gentle with him and hare their picnic.

What a faithful albeit furless FriEnD you've had over the years! :)
Great treasure for sure!

There must be so many memories wrapped into your special bear. Our son's bear also had to have a special set of clothes sewn on to hold him altogether - irreplaceable. Be gentle on the picnic!
