Oh, What A Day!

I made Nelson's 50 Games banner on Friday night,
all ready for Sunday's match.
Bursting through the banner. All that hard work gone in seconds! I watched a bit of Nelson's game. He was having a fantastic game. I then headed off to Austin's match when I got a phone call!
Nelson has been tackled and fell hard and
an ambulance was on the way.
Ouch! Can you see where his bone has snapped!
The doctors tried to realign the bone in the ER under a light anaesthetic but were unsuccessful. He needed to go up to a theatre. Unfortunately, Austin Hospital didn't have a bed for him so he was transferred to the Epworth Hospital for the surgery. Of course, that's where all the AFL footballers are taken! The doctor was able to get his bone realigned without having to open him up and put in plates and pins!
Looking so much brighter this morning. He was starving as he hadn't eaten since breakfast yesterday. Nelson and I are back home now. It was a very long night!

Nelson's football season is over for 2013. Lucky as I had to cut his footy jumper off him! Basketball and gymnastics are also off for 3 months.

So that's how I spent my Mother's Day!
I hope your day wasn't so eventful.

Oh my goodness is right!! Sweetie - take a long soak in that lovely tub, paint your nails, put on some lipstick - and go out the back door and scream at the top of your lungs - always made me feel better.

OH NOOOOOOO :( Not another one :( there are so many junior players dropping like flies at the moment :( Hope he heals quickly. We had one boy break his wrist on Saturday (was also a 50th game) and one of Aiden's mates from B'ball broke his ankle on Sunday :( Nelson makes two 50 gamers with broken bones and guess who is playing his 50th this coming weekend, Declyn. They say things come in 3's but please dont let it be three 50 gamers, I could stand it! hugs

Wow what a way to commemorate his 50th game! So lucky he didn't need surgery. My sons cast came off a couple of weeks ago and they said 6 months before he can get back to his sport, his snapped thru the growth plate at his wrist and thru both bones. Hope your son isn't left handed!
Wishing him all the bet for a speedy healing!
