Friday Night With Friends

I settled down to a lovely night of stitching and
worked on my sewing caddy. Mogwai curled up next
to me and slept the whole night.
 The stitchery so far.
Thanks to Cheryll for being our lovely hostess.
You can see what the others got up to here.
by Ida at My Sister Made Me Do It is starting on Monday.
I'm going to join in again this year.

After my night of stitching and then getting out my pin cushions to photograph this morning, I'm starting to feel inspired to get stitching again. Hopefully, this means my mojo is deciding to come back!

OPAM and Molly Has A Friend Sleepover!

For the first time since 2012,
I have NO finishes for the month! Nothing, zero, zip! I seem to have lost my sewing mojo. Hopefully, I can find it soon. I have done a little stitching and have been helping Nelson with a sewing project for school which is at least something.
Thanks to Peg and Kris for organising OPAM.
This is Mogwai.
She is Austin's girlfriend, Paris' dog. She has been having a sleep over here while Austin is in Queensland with Paris and her family enjoying the beautiful weather up there.
They seem to be ignoring each other here. It's a bit different staying overnight rather than just coming for a walk together. Mogwai had been coming over for walks
for a few weeks to get used to each other.
It took a little be of trial and error for them to get coordinated when taking them for a walk by myself.
 This way?
 No, this way!
 Finally, sorted out.
Austin making a new friend. Look at that blue sky!
Seems they are having lots of fun.
Not too sure about that pose of Austin's though!

Friday Night Sew-In

It was cold and wet last night. A perfect night to stay in and stitch along with everyone. I started the stitchery part of my "My Time, My Place caddy". Only managed to get a little bit done but better than nothing. It's our NOTYQ guild day today, so hopefully I'll get some more stitched.
Thank you to Wendy for hosting us last night.
You can see what everyone got up to last night here.

Friday Night With Friends On Retreat

Friday saw Mel and I head off to our annual NOTYQ Retreat at Myrniong. So our Friday Night With Friends was also Saturday and Sunday With Friends!

First stop - morning tea two minutes down the road from Mel's place! We visited a few shops along the way and we both were very good and didn't really buy anything. Just one of those "nothing jumped out" days.
This was the project I started on Friday night. It is "My Time, My Place Caddy" by Anni Downs of Hatched and Patched.
This is my first attempt at needle turn applique. For over twenty years I have always done buttonhole applique. I managed to stitch the first two trees Friday night.
By Sunday afternoon I had finished all the applique.
Now I've just the stitchery part to go.
It was so lovely spending time with Mel as we hadn't been able to catch up since April! We had a wonderful time.

Speaking of Mel, did you know she has a new blog?
It is called Melody Matilda and you can find it here.
You can see what everyone else got up to for FNWF here.

Off To Retreat!

It's Friday Night With Friends hosted by the lovely
Cheryll from Gone Stitchin' tonight.

This is where I'll be stitching! Melody and I are off on our annual NOTYQ Retreat to Myrniong.
Hopefully, I'll get lots of stitching done. I've got a new applique project to make a start on, along with some others.

Speaking of Mel, did you know she has a new blog? It is called Melody Matilda and you can find it here.
