I'm Back and a Quilt Show!

I can't believe it's three months since I last blogged!
In fact it was three months ago today!
Since getting back from our trip to the Kimberley,
I was very busy with preparations for our NOTYQ
quilt show which was on the first weekend in October.
You may remember me sitting and stitching at the
Daly Waters Pub in the Northern Territory
on our way to meet Nelson.
This is what I was making.
Brooches for the Quilt Show Committee to wear
at the show. They are made from Tilda Gardenlife range.
We had nine different fabrics in the raffle quilt
and there were nine of us on the committee.
So everyone got a different colour brooch.

It's almost 20 years since I joined the Show Committee.
I joined back in 2005 but I missed the 2005 show
as we were in the USA. I've been Convenor since
2010 and we hold the show every two years.
But the time has come and I have stood down
from the committee. Noel and I hope to travel
more and it's not fair on the other girls
when I go off for periods of time.

I'm a little sad now I have made my decision
as I love being on the committee and we do have a lovely time.
I always have the most fabulous time over the show weekend!

This is me giving my final speech at the end of the show
although no-one knew it at the time.

But who knows. I might change my mind and
rejoin for the 2028 show!

Such beautifully displayed quilts - those frames look very smart. Lovely brooches and of course you can always change your mind - but enjoy your travels first! xx

The quilt display looks wonderful Christine - time flies by very quickly doesn't it!! You have done a lot of work for the quilt group, hopefully someone else will have a turn now and you can sit back and relax, or join in once again!!
